1st Thanksgiving

Our 1st Thanksgiving as a family of 4 was great!! My family came up and did all the baking and cooking. It was nice not having to do anything. Kate enjoyed playing with her uncle(my 13 yr old brother) and cousin and followed them around everywhere.
All good things must come to end though, Justin flew out on Saturday and we were extremely sad to see him leave. Hopefully, I will be able to make it through the next month as a single parent.

I "heart" boys!!!!

I am totally in LOVE with Brody. I was a little scared about having a boy, since all I know is girls but once I held him it was all over for me. He is such a good baby. The only time he gets fussy is when we change him or when he has gas. He is eating good and sleeping great. During the day, he eats every 3 hours and at night its usually every 4-4 1/2 hours. With Kate, I would wake her up every 3 hours not so with Brody. I let him sleep as long as possible. It's definitely easier with the second baby, I think part of it is because I am alot calmer and know what to expect.

Kate had her Thanksgiving recital on Saturday and it was soo cute. Watching all the little girls dance and say "gobble gobble" was just precious. We also took Kate to the Children's Festival and it was HOT!!! She did some of the activities but wasn't old enough for alot of them. I think she will enjoy it more in a couple of years.

Brody has arrived!!

That's right Brody Moore Burnett is here. I started having contractions Sat. morning around 4. They were about a minute each every 5 minutes. I wasn't having pelvic contractions I was back contractions and oh did they hurt. My water broke around 4:30 or so but I waited to call the Dr because I wasn't quite sure it had actually broke. You always hear it is a big gush of water, it wasn't like that with me. I called the Dr around 5:30 and she told me to go to the hospital. So, Justin got in the shower and I finished packing some of my things. We got to the hospital around 6:20 and I was put in the triage room so that they could exam me. I was dilated a 4, 90% effaced and a -2 station. I stayed in triage for about 30 minutes before I was moved to my room.
From 7-7:45ish, I was having contractions every 4-5 minutes and was able to have normal conversation. Then all of a sudden the contractions were coming on very quickly. The anesthesiologist came in around 8 to give me my epidural, but the contractions were so strong and coming on so quick I couldn't even answer his questions. Justin was answering all the questions for me. When it came time to actually give me the epidural, I couldn't hold still or get in the position b/c I was in so much pain. I kept telling the nurse, that he was coming. She checked my cervix and I was already 9 and 1/2 centimeters and he was crowning. So within 15 minutes I went from 4 to 9 and 1/2 centimeters. So, I had to deliver with NO EPIDURAL!!!! Yeah, that's not a typo, I did it all natural and it hurt like hell. It happened so fast that my Dr. didn't make it and they were yelling for any Dr. to get in the room. The poor Dr that did deliver Brody, didn't even have time to put on a rob, needless to say, I owe him a new pair of scrubs.
Brody was born at 8:23 am on Nov. 11th. He weighed 7lbs 11 oz and was 19 inches.
I will post pictures in the next couple of days.

Dr. Appt

I had my last Dr. Appt before Brody is born yesterday. I am 2 centimeters dilated, 70% effaced and a station -2. The Dr. scheduled my induction for Monday, Nov. 9th at 6 am. If for some reason there isn't any beds available then I will have to wait and be rescheduled. I'm praying there are beds available! Only 5 more days!!!!

School Party/Halloween

Kate had her fall party on Friday and all the kids were allowed to dress up in their costumes. They then had a parade throughout the school for parents to video and take pictures of. It was so cute seeing all the kids dressed up. Kate had such a fun time and really enjoyed the party.

We had a great Halloween!! Justin flew in a day earlier, so he was here to go Trick or Treating with us. Kate was so excited to go to the houses, ring the doorbell and say "Trick or Treat". She practiced it all day long. After each house she would say, "lets go get more candy". Funny thing is, we don't let Kate have candy, even if I was to let her have some on Halloween, she still wouldn't eat it. This is really the first year Kate understood what was going on and what to do-I cant wait until next year, when we will have two kids to dress up.
