I am not a fan of co-sleeping at all. Justin and I both agreed when I was pregnant with Kate that she would sleep in her own bed. I will say there were times when she was a baby and I was so tired that I would let her sleep in the nook of my arm, but that didn't last long. Plus, Justin could never sleep well because he was so worried about rolling over on her. Well, last night we went out for dinner and drinks and when we got home we took Kate to the bathroom and then went bed. At about 5 am, I heard Kate whining and I knew she had wet the bed. Brody didn't wake up at all during the night, which meant I didn't wake up, which meant Kate didn't go to the bathroom during the night. So, I changed her clothes and let her get in bed with us. That girl cant stay still, she was moving all around. She was up against my back poking me or touching me or starring at me. I had to tell her several times to be still and go to sleep but she never did. At 6, she said she wanted to go back to her bed, so Justin took her back-the top sheet was laid down, so her bed wasn't wet.
For those of you who do co-sleep, I am not judging you, I just don't know how you do it. I like my space when I sleep plus I don't want to have to worry about being loud when I am getting ready for bed.

Not much happening
Not much new is going on with the Burnett's. Brody has had a cold for the past couple of days and now Kate is starting to cough and have a runny nose.
Kate had a couple of bed wetting accidents last week, so I am now taking her to the bathroom a couple times during the night. When Brody wakes up during the night, I go and put the pacifier back in his mouth and then go and get Kate. Picking up a 29lb sleeping toddler is not the easiest thing to do in the middle of night, especially since I am half asleep myself. This routine seems to be working as Kate hasn't had an accident in about a week.
Brody has started getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth. It's pretty funny to watch. After a couple of minutes he resorts back to the caterpillar pose-head down, butt up and then kinda slides up and down. Kate started crawling at 7 months, I wonder if Brody will do the same.

Ear Infection
Brody started pulling on his ear a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think to much of it, I thought maybe he was just now noticing he had ears. He continued pulling on it but not constantly, maybe a couple times a day. I started noticing recently that it was only his left ear and he was pulling on it more often. So, I got online and looked at the symptoms for ear infections and he didn't have any of them. He didn't have a fever, diarrhea, wasn't vomiting or fussy. But to be certain, I took him to see the doctor and it turned out his ear was a little pink inside. The Dr. didn't prescribe any antibiotic's because he is teething, which is most likely the cause for the infection.
The whole ear infection thing is new to me as Kate never had any. Hopefully, this is only a teething ear infection and wont become frequent.

And then there were 2
Brody's second tooth(right bottom middle)came through on Friday(4/9). I had to make several late night trips to his bedroom as he was pretty fussy. Hopefully, now that the tooth has broken through he wont be in as much pain and will be able to sleep better.

5 months
It seems like yesterday, I was writing Brody's 4 month post. Within the last couple of weeks Brody has found his voice. He loves to talk, babble and scream. He loves jumping in his bouncy swing, playing peek-a-boo and pulling big sisters hair. Meal time has become interesting. He eats his cereal in the Bumbo chair but lately doesn't want to stay still. He leans over the side trying to chew on the chair, his feet or hands. It gets very messy. I can only imagine next month when he starts baby food. I can see sweet potato's everywhere. He is sloooooowww at drinking his bottles. A couples of times he has finished a 6 ounce bottle in as little as 15 minutes. Mostly he will drink 3 ounces in 10-15 minutes and then wait until the last 5 minutes before the bottle goes bad to finish it. Brody now weighs around 15 lbs.

Kate is doing great at staying dry during the night. She has only had one accident so far. Before bed, I take her to go to potty and before I go to bed, I wake her up and make her go again. She also loves writing her letters and can write her name pretty well. I ordered her several books to practice in. I think her favorite part of writing is using the dry erase marker.

Easter bunnies...
On Saturday, Kate and I made bunny cookies. I didn't have a bunny cookie cutter, so I had to be creative with the dough. The cookies looked like they could be several different things, aliens, peace signs or bunnies. We decided to go with the bunnies and ice it white with M&M's for the eyes.

On Sunday we hid Easter eggs in the front yard for Kate to find. She had a fun time trying to find them all. Brody watched all the excitement from the baby carrier.
