Christmas part 2

We drove to San Antonio on the 26th to spend a couple of days with Justin's family. Kate and Brody love playing with their cousins. Kate and Brody ended up getting more toys and clothes and having a great time.

Christmas

Justin and the kids built a Gingerbread Man house together this year. His only rule was that I couldn't tell him how/what to do. I had to bite my tongue on several occasions.
Justin's dad and stepmom came up on the 23rd and stayed until Christmas day. The kids love when Grandma and Grandpa come up to visit. Grandma helped Kate make candy cane cookies while Grandpa chased Brody around the house. Since they were leaving Christmas day, we had our big meal, Christmas Eve after candle light service at church. Christmas Day started with opening presents followed by cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
Kate and Brody both got an ipod touch from Santa as well as toys, books, games and clothes. Their favorite gift was by far their ipod touches. Good thing Santa downloaded movies and games for them.

Santa

We took the kids Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa and I was pleasantly surprised that Brody sat in his lap and wasn't scared of him. Kate wasn't shy and told him exactly what she wanted. After pictures with Santa, we let them play some games that were set up around the store. Will definitely go back next year, cant beat free pictures.

School pictures

Brody and Kate got their school pictures in and they turned out great. It still amazes me how they can get them to smile and I never can.

Swimming

Kate and Brody both moved up in their swimming class. Kate is an excellent swimmer and loves getting in the water. Brody is more comfortable and confident now in the water. He is now practicing arm strokes and breathing to the side. Going to the pool this summer should be a lot of fun.

New York

Justin and I took an adult only trip to New York for a long weekend and had a blast. Kate and Brody spent the weekend with my dad and they loved every single minute of it. They camped out in the living at night, went fishing and got to get as dirty as they wanted without me getting onto them. While we in New York we met up with several friends. We had terrific dinners, great shopping, saw Rock of Ages and had a ton of laughs. We came home with tons of funny memories and sore feet.

Thanksgiving

Justin drove to San Antonio on Wednesday to pick up his grandparents to bring them to our house. This is the second year in a row that have spent the holiday with us and we love it. Thursday morning I got up and ran in the 10K Turkey Dash, finishing in 50:58. My plan was to take it easy but then my competitiveness got the better of me. After the race, I came home and started cooking. Justin was in charge of the turkey and I was in charge of all the sides. The weather was perfect and Kate and Brody took full advantage and played outside all day. The day ended with a great dinner and so much to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving party

Brody and I went to Kate's Fall/Thanksgiving party on Tuesday. It was fun to see Kate interact with her friends. They had several goodies to eat and fun activities to do. I am so glad Kate loves school, her classmates and her teacher, it makes dropping her off every morning a little bit easier.

3 and 6 year check up

Kate and Brody had their well check up visit today. Kate weighs 38lbs and is 44 inches tall and Brody weighs 26lbs and was 36 inches tall. Kate has finally made it onto the charts, it just took her 6 years. Her eye sight is 20/25 which I hope stays that way and she doesn't get my eye sight. Both kids are on track and doing great.

Brody's 3

My baby is three. We decided to have a low key birthday party for him at Chuck E Cheese. It was us four and our neighbor Knox. It was perfect! The kids loved playing all the games and even played Simon says with Chuckie. Brody got a ton of Spiderman and Batman toys which is all that he wanted. He is such a boy.
