For Halloween Kate and Brody went as Dash and Violet from The Incredibles. We went trick or treating with our neighbors again this year and the kids had a blast.

Halloween/Character day
Kate's school had a Character Book dress up day and she decided to go as Snow White. She was definitely the prettiest Snow White at school.

First trip to the ER
Sunday night, Brody had his first trip to the ER. We were at my friends house and he was playing on a toy when he fell off and hit his forehead on a speaker. He ended up with a gash on his head that bleed quite a bit. Luckily, I had a ton of friends to help me calm him down and bandage him up. On the way home, I was talking to Justin and he said to go ahead and take him to the ER. So, we ended up in the ER at 5 O'clock and I was pleasantly surprised we only had to wait about 30 minutes before seeing a Dr. They cleaned up the gash and glued it together. We were in and out in 2 hours and both kids did great(Justin was in London). Before bed I gave Brody some pain medicine because I knew his head would be hurting later on. He woke up crying at 10, 12 and 4. I finally brought him to my bed which was the first time he has ever slept in our bed. He tossed and turned for awhile until he finally fell asleep around 5ish. Monday morning he was back to his old self so I decided to let him go to school.

Parent/Teacher Conference
I had my first parent/teacher conference with Kate's teacher and it went great. By the end of Kindergarten, Kate is suppose to know 100 sight words, her letters, sounds, and be reading on a level D. Two months into school and Kate already knows her 100 sight words(I have already started her on 1st grade sight words), letters, numbers and sounds and is also reading on a level H. Mrs. Campbell, Kate's teacher said she is reading above level H but comprehension is best at level H. She is very good at using her clues and strategies when reading. Kate's behavior and social skills are great and always loves to help.
I love seeing and hearing how good she is doing in Kindergarten.

Kate lost a tooth
Kate lost her first tooth today. I picked her up from school and she was so excited to show me. It fell out at recess and luckily she didn't lose it. Kate received a tooth fairy pillow for her birthday and is so excited to use it. My baby girl is getting so big.

Field Trip
Kate went on her first field trip to Dewberry Farms and had a blast. Justin and I went as well and loved seeing her interact with her classmates and teacher. She loved riding the tracker, picking out a pumpkin, sliding down the slide, swinging into the hay and seeing all the craved pumpkins. I love being able to go to school functions and seeing Kate in her element.
Happy Birthday, Kate!!!
Kate turned six yesterday and we celebrated by having a "Glamping" party. It's camping but with lots of glam. I have been planning this party since August and buying decorations here and there. I kept the party very small. I only invited 4 little girls who were all Kate's age. My wonderful mother in law Teresa helped me by making all the girls their camping p.j.'s and they came out fantastic. She is a wonderful seamstress. The party started with all the girls changing into their pajamas and then painting their canvas bags that would hold all their goodies(trail mix, s'mores kit, cookies and a water bottle). After painting the girls played and jumped on the trampoline for awhile before we ate dinner. Then we sang "Happy Birthday" and cut the cake followed by opening all Kate's presents. She got a ton of books, clothes, a tooth fairy pillow, Barbie's, Cinderella's horse and carriage, a sleeping bag and Dora the gymnastic doll. It was a great party that she will forever remember and that makes it worth all the hard work.

Fun Run
Kate's school had a Fun Run fundraiser to raise money to help with education. She was to ask family and friends to pelage a donation. Justin took the information to work and had a couple of friends pledge money. For every lap she ran, they would sponsor her for whatever they pledged. We sponsored her for $1, so if she ran 30 laps(2 miles), we would pay $30. My little runner ran 20 laps. Looks like I may have a running partner in the future.
