23 Months

One more month and my baby will be two!! Brody is putting words together to make sentences, can count to 10, loves singing songs and as of lately has been throwing some major fits. Most of the time we try to ignore them but sometimes he gets a pop on the butt and has to sit in time out. Sharing is not in his vocabulary, he wants everything and throws a fit if Kate doesn't give it to him. He is now on the outs with strawberries, pears, and grapes and only wants bananas as his fruit choice. Justin taught him to say "money" every time he makes a basket which is pretty cute. Some other cute phrases he says are "daddy's home" and "I love you".

1 more month

Kate turns 5 in exactly one month. I can not get over how fast the years have gone by. She is doing fantastic in school! She is learning her sight words and loves to read. She has also moved up in her swimming class and is doing really well with her free style. I cant wait to put her on a swim team next summer. I've thought about enrolling her in either dance or gymnastics but haven't decided on which one. She is a great helper in the kitchen, always wanting to help with baking and cooking. She loves playing with her dolls and dressing up like a princess.

22 months

Brody turned 22 months on the 7th and Justin and I have already seen some terrible two's behavior. He can go from happy to crying within seconds if he doesn't get his way. He has had to hear alot of "stop it" and "no" lately. Which he doesn't like. His new favorite movie is Rio. He loves it and wants to watch it everyday. His loves when the music comes on so he can dance. Brody loves singing The Wheels on the Bus and Ring around the Rosey. He now weighs 23 pounds and has finally moved up to a size 4 diaper. He loves books and will finally sit still long enough for Justin and I to read him a goodnight book, his favorite is The Belly Button Book. His new phrase is "Awwww Man".

Labor Day weekend

For Labor Day weekend we went to San Antonio to visit Justin's family as well as take the kids to Sea World. We got to Sea World when they opened at 10 and had perfect weather all day. It was hot but we had a cool breeze throughout the day. Kate and Brody had a great time. There favorite parts were watching the dolphin, seal and whale shows. Brody made it all the way to 2 before he passed out, Kate of course was still going strong.

The things she says....

Kate can say some pretty funny one liners, and I have no clue where she gets them.

Example #1
Justin-Good night princess.
Kate-You got that right.

Example #2
Kate-Daddy, can we go jump on the trampoline?
Justin-No, baby its too hot.
Kate-Damn! I never get to jump on it.
Justin-Uh, what did you say?
Kate-Damn.
Justin-We don't say that word.
Kate-OK.
When Justin was telling me what Kate had said, he was giving me a look of "you know where she heard that". I told him, she didn't hear that from as that is not the word I usually use.

Example#3
In the movie Shark Tale, it has the Gold digger song in it but Kate hears it differently.
Kate-"She's dangerous, super bad, better watch out she'll take it bell, shes a nooo dig it, she's a nooooo dig it."
Correct versus-She's dangerous, super bad, better watch out she'll take your man, she's a gold digger, she's a gold digger.

First day of Pre-school

Kate and Brody both started Pre-school today. Kate has been going since last year so I wasn't worried or nervous for her. Brody on the hand was a different story. When I went to leave, he started crying which of course made me feel guilty all day. I kept looking at my watch wondering what and how he was doing. I admit it was nice to have the day to myself, I was able to go to grocery shopping, clean and get dinner prepped for tonight. Because I felt guilty leaving him this morning, I actually went and picked him up a little early. Ms. Brittany his teacher said he had a wonderful day, he ate three helpings at lunch, took an hour nap on the cot-which I was really worried about since he still sleeps in his crib and loved story time. `
Kate had a great day and is excited to go back tomorrow and see her friends.

21 months

Three more months and Brody will be 2!! How did that happen?!? He loves to say Daddeeee and Mommeeee. Even when we answer him he continues to say it. He continues to be a great eater, loves guacamole and chips. I have become a closet eater whenever I am around him because whenever he see me with food, he wants it, even if he just finished eating. The kid can eat. He is still going to swimming lessons every week and doing a great job even though now he doesn't like going to Ms. Lindsay the instructor. The first month he went to her with no problem and now all of a sudden he starts to cry and gets a pouty face. Hopefully his resistance to her wont be for much longer.
Justin and I decided to put Brody in school three days a week so that he can play and be around other kids. He will be going to the same school as Kate which makes me feel better about sending him. I had originally signed him up to go two days but Justin suggested 3 since he has every other Friday off, which means we can have day dates.
