I want more

On Sunday Brody said his first sentence,"I want more". He was pointing at the phone when he said it. He loves to play with the phone and remotes, he would choose them over toys. Brody and his car seat are fighting again, when he starts whining, I say in a stern voice "Brody, stop" or Brody, no" and then look in my rear view mirror to see what he does. It's so funny, he stops whining and turns his head into his car seat and sticks out his bottom lip. I try so hard not to laugh. He is also in the habit of saying "uh oh" constantly and pointing at the t.v. screen in the car if I don't turn it on fast enough.
Justin bought Kate and Brody a basketball goal last week and they love playing with it. The weather has been great so we try and play outside most days. Kate cannot wait for summer and the pool to open. She will ask everyday if it is Spring because she knows Summer comes next. She is still doing great in swim lessons and I cant wait to see how she does at the pool this summer.

16 months

Another month has flown by!! Brody has added bubbles, doe(shoe) and nana(banana) to his vocabulary. He loves playing with bubbles and anything else that has to do with being outside.
While watching Kate and Brody play, Brody walked over to Kate gave her a hug and a KISS!! It melted my heart. He LOVES Kate, always wants to play with her or be around her. He is still taking 2 naps a day and sleeping great at night. He is back to only wanting banana's as his fruit. I have to give him his meat first to eat and then the banana or else he wont eat any of his meat. As of right now, he is on the outs with veggies, wont eat them. Another tooth is coming in which makes the total 13.

Golf

Justin has been teaching Kate how to play golf and she loves it. They go to the golf course several times a month to practice putting. Justin bought Kate a couple of clubs and Mimi(Justin's mom) bought her pink golf balls that have her name on them.
Justin is so excited that Kate loves playing golf. He keeps saying "I cant wait until I can take both kids out to play".

All about Kate

While in the car the other day, Kate recited The Night before Christmas, word for word. She also walks around the house reciting lines and songs from the movie Tangled, granted she watches it pretty much every night but still. Her teacher says that she does great in remembering words in both Spanish and Chinese. Not sure she will ever need Chinese but who knows.


Her eating habits have gotten better. She recently started eating string cheese, which she use to eat when she was younger. She will also eat a turkey and cheese sandwich, loves corn and will eat green beans and peas if they are in chicken pot pie. I decided, I'm not going to fight her on it, she will eventually start eating fruit and other veggies when she is ready. I didn't like tomatoes until I was 27.

Kate is doing great in swim lessons. We signed her up at Houston Swim Club in Katy in November and they make all new members take a 2 week maintenance course. By the end of the course they want them to be able to swim and then turn and float on their back by themselves. Kate was able to do it by day 6. She is now learning the breast stroke.

Me- Was Chayse and Landry at school today?
Kate-Yes. Chayse and Landry are twins.
Me-Yes, I know. They are also sisters.
Kate-No, there twins.
Me-Yes, but they are also sisters.
Kate-No, there not.
Me-Ok.
We had the exact same conversation about Jacob and Jude, who are twins. The conversation ending the same way. :)

15 months

15 Months
I took Brody for his wellness checkup today and my poor baby has an ear infection and pink eye. He has had a fever for about 4 days and has been super cranky. Whenever Justin and I would hold him he would just lay his head on our shoulder or chest, it broke my heart that he felt so bad. In the last month 4 of his molars have come in which makes a total of 12 teeth now.
He loves looking at books, playing with whatever Kate has and being outside. Whenever you ask him "where's your tongue", he sticks it out like a lizard and then tries to lick you with it. Brody went through a phrase where the only fruit he would eat was bananas, thankfully that didn't last too long and he will now eat pears again. He says "thank you" but sounds more like "tank too", his other words are mama, dada, uh-oh, bye bye, hi, ni ni(night night), nana(banana), more, ball and dog.

Shoe lover

Brody has a thing for shoes. It doesn't matter whose shoes they are, he tries to put them. He spends more time playing with shoes than with his toys. His new "favorite pair" are Kate's red Jessie boots. He LOVES them and didn't want to take them off.

France

On the way home from school, Kate was looking outside the window and said "Look, it looks like France." I had no clue what she was talking about, so at the stop light, I turned around to see what she was looking at. She pointed to a metal power line tower and said, "It looks like the one in France." After seeing what she was pointing at, I realized she was comparing the metal power line to the Eiffel Tower. The metal tower looks very similar to the Eiffel Tower and I am so impressed that Kate was able to see the similarities between them.
After Justin got home from work, I told him what Kate had said and he said "What are we going to do, when she becomes smarter than us?" Hmmmm...I think she might already be :)
