85th birthday

Back in August we went to Cameron to celebrate Justin's grandmas 85th birthday. Kate and Brody loved seeing all their Great Aunts and playing. They are a great family and we always love spending time with them.

Toddler bed

We finally converted Brody's crib into a toddler bed. He will be 3 in two months so I figured it was time. It is the exact same time I converted Kate's. We were lucky that neither Kate or Brody ever tried climbing out of their cribs. For the most part that is why we waited so long, they were always contempt in their cribs. Brody, was very excited about the changing of his bed and I kept telling him he has to stay in it, that he can't get out. Fingers crossed, we have a smooth transition. 

1st day of Kindergarten

Today, my baby girl started Kindergarten. I can't believe the day has come. I woke up early and made cinnamon rolls for Kate and Brody. Kate was so excited to wear her new clothes and shoes. Justin took part of the morning off, so he could come to school with us. Kate remembered exactly where her classroom was from when we went to meet her teacher the week before. Once in her classroom, she put her backpack and lunch box up and found her seat. When we left her, she was coloring her worksheet and I may or may not have gotten a little teary eyed. I have no doubt that Kate will love going to school, playing with new friends and learning.

Fancy Nancy

Kate loves the book Fancy Nancy and decided she wanted to have her own Fancy Nancy day. So, she got all dressed up and told Justin and I to put on some fancy clothes. She picked a dress for me and picked out boots for Justin to wear. She said, Brody could stay the way he was. We took the kids to eat frozen yogurt and get a haircut for Brody. She was so excited for everyone to see her outfit. I love that she was so excited to play out a character from her book and hope we can have many more Fancy Nancy days. 

A little vacation

We decided to take the kids to Fiesta Texas for a little weekend getaway. We stayed with Justin's sister, brother in law and their kids for the weekend. Kate and Brody had a blast playing with their 3 cousins-all boys. On Saturday, we got to Fiesta when the gates opened at 10:30. We went straight to the kid section where we rode a ton of rides. Kate kept saying, she wanted to go on a really high roller coaster, I don't think she realizes how high they really are. After lunch, we decided it was time to hit the water park. All 5 kids loved it!! It was perfect for them. By 4:30 we were all getting tired and ready to go. Brody, who takes afternoon naps everyday, went the whole weekend without on and did great. He never had a melt down. He also did great on the drive up and back in his underwear. He didn't have any accidents in the car or at Fiesta.

Potty Trained

Brody is officially potty trained. He has been in underwear the past two weeks and has only had one accident. The only time he wears a diaper is at night but the last month or so it has been dry every morning. He will tell us most of the time if he needs to go but I still ask him every 30 minutes or so. It's so nice not having to change diapers anymore.

Summer of movies

This summer we have gone to the movies ALOT. We have seen Madagascar 3, Brave and Ice Age 3. Out of the 3 the kids like Madagascar 3 the best. Brave, had a couple of scary parts in it, the three little brothers were the best part of the movie and Ice Age 3 was just okay. Brody, is great at the movies, for the most part he sits in his own seat, until the last 20 minutes or so when he wants to sit with me. I am glad he is at the age where he can sit through the a movie because now we can go as a whole family.
