Summer Camp

I wanted the kids to have many activities this summer to keep them from getting bored so I signed them up for summer camp at our church. I signed them both up for 3 weeks, 9-2:30.  The activities included-It's a Bugs Life, Puppet Galore, Painting with Picasso, Dance to the Beat, VBS, Digging with Dinosaurs, and much much more. Everyday when I picked them up they had a ton of crafts that they made that day and were excited to go back the next day. It was definitely a fun experience for them and I plan to sign them up again next year.

Kate's graduation

I am still in disbelief that Kindergarten is already over for Kate. I can still remember walking her into her classroom on the first day of school. She had a fantastic year, she learned so much, made many new friends, loved her teacher and loved being in school. I absolutely loved her teacher Mrs. Campbell. She was such a sweet, loving teacher and you could tell she loved her job and her students. I can only hope  Kate has another "Mrs. Campbell" in first grade.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great. Justin started the morning with my yearly French Toast and then we got ready for church. Justin's dad and stepmom were also down to see Kate and Brody being dedicated to the church. After church we had lunch at the house and then went over to swim at our friends house. The day was fun and relaxing which is all I wanted.

Family pictures

We don't have any family pictures of us and my friend Sarah graciously offered to photograph us. Sarah, is a great photographer who lives in Spring. We decided to take them in a park in The Woodlands and I couldn't be happier with them. They turned out fantastic!!

Medals over medical bracelets

Justin decided he wanted to run the Green 6.2 again this year. Yes, it is the same race in which he had his accident exactly a year prior. I was very hesitant at first but he asked several friends to run it with him which made me feel a little better. We all meet up and got in line for the race and I made sure to run with my phone this time. We all had a good time running/walking it and I was very excited when we all finished.

Tubes and Adenoid's removed

Brody never really got ear infections very often but all of a sudden he was getting them all the time. He had 5 within 3 months! I finally asked his Pediatrician for a referral. I made an appointment with the ENT to have his ears looked at. The doctor was very surprised he didn't have a speech delay or impediment as his ears were filled with fluid and he didn't do very well on his hearing test. She recommended that he get tubes and his adenoids removed and I agreed. His surgery was scheduled for 7 but we needed to be there by 6:15 for pre-op. Since he was getting his adenoids removed they had to put him under anesthesia. The surgery took less than 20 minutes. Brody was NOT a happy camper when he woke up though. He was crying and saying his throat hurt so they gave him some pain medicine in his IV which made him go to sleep for about 10 minutes. When he woke up again, he was a little better but still said his throat hurt. Once we got home he laid on the couch for about an hour and then was totally fine, like nothing had ever happened. Hopefully, getting the tubes will keep the ear infections away!

Easter

Easter morning started with cinnamon rolls and Kate and Brody going through their Easter baskets to see what the Easter Bunny left them. After playing with their gifts we got ready and went to church. After church we went to our neighbors for a little Easter egg hunt where the kids loaded up on candy. After nap, we went over to our friends house to swim and to have another Easter egg hunt. Once again Kate and Brody got alot of candy in their eggs.
