I ran in the Houston 1/2 marathon on Sunday and it was cold, rainy and miserable. My knee had been hurting pretty bad leading up to race so I was a little nervous about it. I was also nervous about the weather. It was cold and rainy-two factors that I don't like to run in. To make it worse, I forgot my running watch at home, so the whole race, I didn't know my pace or time. It rained the first 3 miles, at mile 4.5 I warmed up and took off my rain poncho and sweatshirt. At mile 9 it started to rain again but didn't last long. My fingers were numb the entire race and several hours after. Since, I had forgot my watch, I knew I wouldn't get a PR so I then changed my goal to run it in under 2 hours. When I crossed the finish line, I saw the clock and knew I had run it in under 2 hours. It wasn't until I got inside to collect my medal, shirt and checked bag that I checked my actual time. I had to check three times because I didn't believe it. My official time was 1:54:41. Not only did I run it under 2 hours but I also PR'd by 4 minutes.

Race weekend
My neighbor and I ran in the ABB 5k on Saturday. The weather was muggy and humid but nothing too bad. We decided to jog the race since we were both running our big races on Sunday. My whole reason for running the 5k was to get the triple medal on Sunday after our second race.
